The Elephant is a member of the Big 5 animals referred to as the five most difficult animals to hunt on foot in Africa. It is often illegally hunted for its precious ivory. In Shona it is called Nzou and tribes with Elephant as their totem are referred to as Samanyanga. Zimbabwean men take very much pride in being referred to by their totems. Sculpted in Serpentine stone which is found in many deposits throughout Zimbabwe. Its colours vary from black to brown to green, orange and variegated. Measured on Mohs scale, Serpentine goes up to 6.54. Perfect for displaying at work or at home.
