Hippo comes from the ancient Greek for river horse. It is a semi-aquatic herbivorous mammal. Despite its stocky shape and short legs, it can easily outrun a human. The hippo is one of the most aggressive creatures in the world and is often regarded as the most ferocious animal in Africa. Sculpted in Serpentine stone which is found in many deposits throughout Zimbabwe. Its colours vary from black to brown to green, orange and variegated. Measured on Mohs scale, Serpentine goes up to 6.54. Perfect for displaying at work or at home.
