A mother carrying a baby on her back is a very common sight in Zimbabwe. Mothers often do so when travelling or when they are performing household tasks. When a baby is crying or wanting to get to sleep, mothers often too strap the baby to their back and sing lullabies to encourage them to sleep. Beautifully and artistically sculpted in Serpentine stone which is found in many deposits throughout Zimbabwe. Its colours vary from black to brown to green, orange and variegated. Measured on Mohs scale, Serpentine goes up to 6.54.
